Glossy Blogger Aimee On Her Love Of Jumpsuits!
The sunshine is getting hotter and I am eager to invest in a complete new summer wardrobe. However I am somewhat bored of ‘pretty’ summer dresses and am desperate to inject some ‘fierceness’ into my wardrobe. I think a gorgeous jumpsuit would be the perfect addition and update my spring/summer look instantly.
The trend appeared back last Spring/Summer 2009 with Stella McCartney leading the way with her ready to wear collection featured at Paris Fashion week. The array of long, short, glamorous silk, plunging V collars and racer backs jumpsuits mesmerised me and I am still in love with the ensemble. What’s not to love? Throw on the jumpsuit, a pair of killer heels and a few jewels and you are good to go, looking chic and glamorous. And they’re back again for Spring/Summer 2010 in lighter fabrics; Lanvin’s Grecian draped suit and DKNY’s tomato red suit being personal favourites.
My love of jumpsuits was cemented this year when I saw the gorgeous Louise Roe sporting an orange Jaeger jumpsuit (see picture) at London Fashion Weekend and I knew I had to have one! There is one for every body type and the key to finding yours is just to try them on. As a curvy, 5ft 5 girl I have been searching for my perfect jumpsuit for some time and avoiding the fugitive look at all costs. Finally I have chosen a black, peg leg suit with a lapel front. I love it and advise everyone to jump in to the jumpsuit trend feet first!
