LFW Show Review: Maria Francesca Pepe Spring Summer 2011 collection.

In a live interactive presentation, Maria Francesca Pepe showed a collection of ready to wear and jewellery.

It was as though, the somber garments formed the foundation of her vision, with an exo-skeletal as it were of intricate body jewellery.

LFW Show Review: BodyAmr Spring Summer 2011

The show notes stated that designer Amr wanted to celebrate powerful women of times gone by.

The glamorous collection in a palette of nudes, azure blue, teal, silver etc was a line-up of decadent day and evening wear. It featured sequin gowns with sheer and silk jersey over lays, Studio 54 worthy evening gowns, sheer garments and an deco jewel prints as inspired by Josephine Baker.

The show also debuted the BodyAmr collaboration with TV Presenter, Zara Martin. Martin decked in a bespoke BodyAmr piece explained in a pre-show interview that she had worked with the label on 7 capsule collection within the spring summer 2011 collection. She also very rightly stated it was synonymous with the sexy.

LFW Show Review: John Rocha Spring Summer 2011

This collection was simply beautiful. Rocha paired a monochromatic colour palette with assured structure. It was a textured collection of knits, tweed, lace and cottons with a traveller air.

The show notes read stated that Rocha was inspired by images from Deborah Turbeville’s ‘Past Imperfect’. Models had traveller back packs and ruffled wide brimmed hats on.

LFW Show Review: Osman Yousefzada Spring Summer 2011

Osman Yousefzada spring summer 2011 was structural in classic tones with bursts of colour.

A key note in this timeless collection was assymetry with a focus on assymetric dresses. He used organic denim, leather, silks and cottons for his line-up.

LFW Show Review: Jena Theo Spring Summer 2011

Design duo, Jenny Holmes and Dimitris Theocharidis of Jena.Theo showed a collection that saw a mix of Indian, North African by way of Arabia and British Colonial influences.

Garments in their signature draping explored multi-functional design, with two piece items being able to worn as dresses and so forth.

The palette was ecru, and a pink violet that dominated. Models were adorned in tuareg style headgear, exotic slouchy harem leg garments, metallic Indian embroidery was seen on edges and hems of designs, denim was deconstructed also multifuctional.
