Underwear as outerwear has been around for a while now and has become a very sexy yet feminine way to dress, however you do need that little bit of confidence to bare that little bit more. I went to Berlin recently for their Spring/Summer ‘11 fashion week and it was great to see how fashionista’s ‘work it’ on that side of the border. Last week, Paris hosted ‘Couture Fashion Week’ and it seems as if Couture has a new customer. Haute Couture is no longer about being unwearable and avant-garde, it is now aimed at the woman who has a ‘21st century lifestyle’ as Paula Reed of Grazia said this week. Paula rightly pointed out that couture pieces are now expected to be packable instead of having their own seat on a private jet! (more…)
London’s Somerset House is currently playing host to Maison Martin Margiela ‘20′, an exhibit that pays tribute to the influential fashion house’s 20th anniversary, officially celebrated back in October 2008. The exhibit opened earlier this summer and runs through to September 5th. With a day off and my visiting younger brother in tow, I finally found time in my schedule to head over and explore the past 20 years of Margiela history. (more…)
